Taiwan Triangle Moss is an aquarium, terrarium, and paludarium moss that is growing in popularity and is an excellent choice for beginners and experts alike!

Taiwan Triangle Moss (Taxiphyllum alternans) is a somewhat uncommon, but increasingly popular and attractive species of creeping moss for the freshwater aquarium. This is a great plant to keep in any freshwater aquarium, terrarium, or paludarium due to its low lighting requirements and ease of care. It grows into bushy patches that are always a favorite hiding place for shrimp and fish fry. It also provides cultivation areas for tiny live food sources such as infusoria and biofilm. Once established in the aquarium, Taiwan Triangle fronds appear pointed and triangular, as its common name states.

This is a very easy plant to keep without much extra care, but like all plants, it can benefit from CO2 supplementation, although this is not required.  Like many mosses, it does not typically respond positively to most chemical plant supplements.  Many aquarists report success with this moss purely through keeping a well-maintained aquarium with no supplementation.

This listing is for the tissue culture form of Taiwan Triangle Moss. Tissue cultures are superior to traditional forms of aquarium plants in many ways. They are produced in a completely sterile environment which eliminates the possibility of them carrying pest snails or algae spores. They have a shelf life (before introduction to the aquarium) of several months if properly maintained and they are housed in a nutrient gel until introduced to the aquarium. To introduce a tissue culture plant to the aquarium, simply rinse off as much nutrient gel as possible, then plant as usual. The nutrient gel will not harm your aquarium.

Packaging may vary. Tissue Culture plants may arrive in bag or cup form.
